Health Care Professionals

The Continence Advisory Service ofWAconducts a number of training workshops for people working with bladder and bowel issues.







Training services are provided to a range of health care professionals including

  • Registered and Enrolled Nurses
  • Physiotherapists
  • Occupational Therapists
  • Pharmacists
  • In addition care workers, support workers, disability workers and pharmacy assistants have also received education and training services. HACC staff and volunteers are also provided with education and training services.

    We also provide training for professionals working with clients from a Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CaLD) background.

    The Continence Advisory Service prides itself on the delivery of comprehensive and relevant training sessions.

    Time: Sessions and content are tailored to meet the needs of your group and generally run from 60 - 90 minutes.

    Cost: To be discussed with your trainer

    Locations: Metropolitan and Regional availability; to be conducted in your own training area or a negotiated venue offsite.


    Continence Care for HACC Clients (Adults) and Residential Aged Care Facility Staff

  • HACC support workers/community service providers (health and aged care)

  • Promoting Good Bladder and Bowel Health
  • Water and Wellbeing
  • Prevention and Management of UTI's
  • Update on Continence Subsidies, Eligibility, Aids and Appliances
  • Dementia and Continence Care
  • Medicines and Continence
  • Continence and Falls Prevention


    During 2013 - 2014, CAS WA training staff delivered sessions at sites including Albany, Bunbury, Busselton, Broome, Manjimup, Karratha, Onslow, Laverton and Wiluna. That's a ot of kilometres covered!
